A conversation with Invisible Creature // December World's Fair Update
Hey everyone,
Coming to you late on Friday night with a few updates and then will be mostly radio silent through the end of the year as I shift focus to our event series coming in January! (When we make an announcement, you’ll be the first to know.)
That said, we’ve got a few things to share this week.
1) The World’s Fair / Build The Future Podcast
Delivered just in time for your weekend run, errands, or… lounging — a conversation with the brilliant Don Clark from Invisible Creature — who designed our poster series. I met Don a year ago after obsessing over his work with NASA JPL and knew that I had to get his help stirring up the world’s imagination for the Fair.

2) Airbnb Tours + Treasure Island
Last week, I took a small group out to Treasure Island to MVP doing the Treasure Hunt as an Airbnb Experience. (Thank you Andy, Sarah, Lily, Yash, Tom, and Mo!) Sadly, the final treasure was stolen(?) and will be replaced this weekend.
Additionally, the approval came through for an Airbnb Experience, so I’ll be having a bit of fun on Saturdays taking people out! Availability by request through the end of the month — message me and I’d be excited to host you!
3. Walt Disney Museum Meetup
For a quick dose of inspiration, I’m thinking about doing an impromptu meetup at the Walt Disney Family Museum on Sunday morning in San Francisco. If you’re interested in joining, let me know and I’ll pull a group together.
(Bonus) OpenAI’s Chat GPT…
Alright. Not exactly Fair related, but I’ve had to restrain myself from not spending all week designing stories and ideating on experiences using an AI. What’s next & how to help
Again, the podcast will continue to ship every other week (on Sundays) and I’ll be hosting a few of the Airbnb experiences. Other than that, the focus is on:
1) Finding a few more Founding Patrons to support the Fair for our Q1 & Q2 programming (event series, design retreat, and a gala). If you’re interested in supporting the Fair’s mission to promote a hopeful future (and want a tax deduction before the end of the year) send me a note and I’ll link you to more information.
2) Planning our event series for January. Some of you got an email from me earlier, but I’ll ask here again. I could use your input on as we plan the programming and would love your response to this one question:
What piece of content (book, website, podcast, interview, film, short story, article, etc) gives you the feeling of excitement and optimism for the future? (Please send a link if possible)
